Influential Women Highlights Isabella Frueh: Advancing Equity, Philanthropy, And Community-Centered Change
CINCINNATI, OH, UNITED STATES, August 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Nonprofit Leader Uses Strategy, Advocacy, and Collaborative Leadership to Strengthen Organizations and Elevate Marginalized Voices
Isabella Frueh, MA, is a nonprofit leader, community advocate, and philanthropy professional with 18 years of experience across education, youth services, and nonprofit leadership. A proud native Cincinnatian, Isabella has dedicated her career to strengthening community systems, expanding opportunities for underrepresented groups, and helping organizations create meaningful, sustainable impact.
Throughout her professional journey, Isabella has remained committed to rebalancing systems through power-sharing, particularly for causes that directly impact young people and communities throughout the region. She believes lasting change requires collaboration, accountability, and intentional efforts to ensure diverse voices are represented in decisions that shape the future.
Currently, Isabella serves as Manager of Nonprofit Services for Ignite Philanthropy, where she supports nonprofit clients through strategic large-scale fundraising initiatives and data-forward capacity-building efforts. In this role, she helps organizations strengthen their infrastructure, align resources with mission-driven goals, and develop strategies that allow them to better serve their communities.
Previously, Isabella was the Founder and Owner of Think – IF Consulting Services, where she partnered with nonprofits to provide strategy development, mission alignment, program design, impact evaluation, and grant writing support. Through her consulting work, she helped organizations clarify their goals, strengthen operations, and create measurable outcomes aligned with their missions.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Isabella is deeply engaged in community leadership and advocacy. She currently serves as Board Chair for Community Shares of Greater Cincinnati; Chair-Elect of the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) National Affiliate Advisory Council; and is a proud member of the Public Allies Cincinnati Advisory Board. She was also recognized as an American Heart Association 2024 Leader of Impact.
Isabella’s leadership journey has been further shaped through several respected development programs, including Leadership Council for NonProfits’ BOLD cohort in 2019, Groundwork Ohio’s Leadership & Advocacy Fellowship in 2022, and the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati’s Rising Stars Equity Leadership program in 2024. These experiences have strengthened her ability to advocate for equity, build relationships, and lead with purpose.
Most importantly, Isabella approaches her community work with humility and a commitment to continuous learning. She believes in holding herself and others with significant levels of privilege and power accountable while recognizing that everyone has a role to play in dismantling systems that create barriers and inequities.
Isabella attributes her success to a sustained drive to learn, a deep commitment to her local community, and the relationships she has built with other women who are passionate about growth and collective progress. With strong roots throughout Cincinnati, she has developed a deep understanding of regional needs and the importance of connecting people, resources, and organizations.
Through her current role, Isabella strategically connects philanthropy and nonprofits, helping ensure resources reach the communities and individuals who need them most. Her volunteer leadership efforts also allow her to advocate for and elevate the voices of marginalized groups, including early childhood educators who play a critical role in supporting children and families.
The best career advice Isabella has received is simple but powerful: “Lift as you climb.” She believes women have tremendous power not only to pursue leadership themselves but also to create opportunities for others along the way.
For Isabella, this means making introductions, extending invitations, recommending peers for awards and opportunities, and intentionally building pathways for others to succeed. She believes true leadership is not measured only by individual accomplishments, but by the ability to bring others forward and strengthen the communities around us.
Isabella encourages women entering philanthropy and nonprofit leadership to recognize the value of their lived experiences, emotional intelligence, and ability to navigate complex situations. She believes these qualities are essential for building stronger organizations and creating meaningful change.
While philanthropy continues to be an industry where leadership has historically been dominated by men, Isabella believes there is significant opportunity for women to step into decision-making roles and help direct resources toward communities that have often been underfunded and underserved. She sees this as an important moment for women to influence the future of philanthropic giving and shape systems that are more equitable and inclusive.
One of the greatest challenges Isabella sees in philanthropy is navigating systems that require careful resource allocation while communities continue to face significant economic and emotional challenges. Addressing these issues requires thoughtful strategy, collaboration, and a commitment to understanding the realities faced by individuals and families.
At the same time, Isabella sees a tremendous opportunity in the unprecedented transfer of wealth occurring as older generations pass resources to new leaders and organizations. She believes this moment creates possibilities for women and emerging leaders to influence philanthropic priorities, expand access to resources, and re-shape historically unbalanced systems of power.
The values that guide Isabella’s personal and professional life include continual learning, community-centered equity and justice, and practicing dialectical thinking—the ability to hold multiple truths simultaneously. These principles shape how she approaches leadership, relationships, and advocacy.
Through her work in philanthropy, nonprofit strategy, and community leadership, Isabella Frueh continues to champion a future where organizations are stronger, resources are more accessible, and communities have greater opportunities to thrive. Her dedication to collaboration, equity, and meaningful impact reflects her belief that lasting change begins with listening, learning, and creating space for every voice to be heard.
